Professional profile

Martina Ustulin graduated in Veterinary Medicine at Bologna University. Subsequently, she attended a postgraduate course entitled “Animal health, breeding and livestock production” at Padua University. At present, she works at the diagnostic service in Pordenone.

Her activities mainly refer to swine pathology, with particular attention to gross pathological evaluation, isolation and identification of bacteria of clinical interest and revelation and characterization of viral pathogens through biomolecular methods.

In 2010, she started her research activity in the field of Salmonella infection in swine reproduction and fattening farms. Subsequently she dedicated to the evaluation of use of new matrixes (oral fluids) as diagnostic tool within the research project (RC IZSVe 11/12 ) entitled “Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) and Porcine Circovirus type 2 (PCV2) to monitor the use of oral fluids by serological and molecular methods”.

She is actually involved in the research project entitled “Micoplasma hyorhinis role in Porcine respiratory Disease Complex in two different swine production system in North-Eastern Italy” (RC IZSVe 15/15), that aims to clarify diffusion, trasmission pattern and pathogenethic role of Micoplasma hyorhinis.

She is collaborating to the Research Project entiteld RC IZSVe RC 12/15 “Presence of Norovirus in swine population”
