Privacy policy and Personal data processing

Pursuant to art. 13 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 “Consolidated text on the protection of personal data”

Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie hereby states that Italian Legislative Decree no. 196, dated 30/06/2003 (“Code on personal data protection”), guarantees that personal data will be processed in full respect of your rights, fundamental freedom and dignity, particularly with regard to confidentiality, personal identity and the right to personal data protection.

Data processing controller

The data processing controller is the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, in the person of the Institute’s acting legal representative with legal address c/o the head office of the Institute in Viale dell’Università no. 10, Legnaro (Padova), Italy. The supervisors in charge of processing the data are the Institute’s Department Managers and public or private entities external to the Institute (external heads), who process the data in the name and on behalf of the Institute. Personal data made known to the Administration will be processed by the aforementioned entities for institutional purposes and will comply with legal and contractual regulations.

Purposes for which data will be processed

The data provided will be processed solely in the pursuit of the Institute’s own ordinary activities. The data provided will be processed for purposes relating to legal, statutory, contractual and agreement-related obligations.

Methods of processing data

The term “processing” refers to “any operation or series of operations, carried out with or without the aid of electronic instruments, relating to the collection, recording, organization, storage, consultation, adaptation, alteration, selection, retrieval, interrogation, use, interconnection, blocking, disclosure, dissemination, deletion and destruction of data, whether or not these are recorded in a database” (art. 4, paragraph I, letter a). Personal data are collected and stored in hard copy and digital format at this and other Institute facilities, in such a manner as to guarantee the security and confidentiality of your data, and are processed by means of hard copy and/or electronic tools.

Provision of data

Personal data constitute essential information and their provision is mandatory.

Data disclosure

Personal data may be shared with and disclosed to public or private entities only where required by specific legislation or regulations.

Rights of the party concerned

Pursuant to art. 7 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 dated 30/06/2003, you have the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of personal data that concern you, including data that has not yet been recorded, and to obtain notification of such data in intelligible form.

Your rights

You are entitled to obtain information regarding:

  1. the origin of the personal data;
  2. the purposes of and methods used in processing;
  3. the rationale applied to processing carried out with the aid of electronic instruments;
  4. the essential details for identifying the controller, supervisors and representative, appointed in accordance with article 5, paragraph II;
  5. the subjects or categories of subjects to whom the personal data may be disclosed or who may become aware of such data in the capacity of appointed representative of the State, supervisor or person in charge of data processing.

You are entitled to obtain:

  1. updates, amendments or, where relevant, supplements to the data;
  2. the deletion, conversion into anonymous form or blocking of data processed in breach of the law, including data that need not be kept in relation to the purposes for which the data were gathered or subsequently processed;
  3. confirmation that the operations referred to in letters a) and b) above, including their content, have been brought to the attention of the persons with whom the data have been shared or to whom they have been disclosed, save where this proves to be impossible or entails the use of means which are manifestly disproportionate to the right being protected.

You are entitled to object wholly or partially:

  1. on legitimate grounds, to the processing of personal data that concern you, even though the data are relevant to the purpose of the collection;
  2. to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of sending advertising or direct sales material or for carrying out market research or business communications.

In order to exercise the rights envisaged by article 5 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, you may write to the controller or supervisor in charge of processing the personal data.
