Professional profile

Michela Rabini graduated in Veterinary Medicine and specialised in Inspection and Control of Foods of Animal Origin. From 2004 she has been a veterinary officer at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie – SCT6 of Bolzano (Italy) where she is in charge of the unit responsible for own-control food samples from processing establishments. From 2008 she has been Quality Assurance Manager of the Laboratory of Bolzano and deals specifically with the results of laboratory analysis and audits.

Her main activity is to provide support to food processing workers in the framework of own-control sampling plans, focusing on the area of slaughterhouses and meat product establishments. She is currently participating in various research studies on food security in mass catering.

She cooperates in particular with the relevant trade associations in drawing up sampling plans  and shelf life studies in products of animal origin.
