She has been the Head of the Parasitology and Mycology Laboratory at IZSVe since 2016, after having worked as a researcher in the same laboratory from 2005 to 2016.

Her research interests mainly focus on veterinary mycology, specifically the development of rapid diagnostic methods for fungal diseases and the molecular characterization of fungal pathogens of animal and environmental origin. Additionally, within the field of mycology, she studies the role of animals as sentinels for exposure to environmental fungal pathogens. Dermatophytes, Cryptococcus, Pneumocystis, and Prototheca are the primary fungal pathogens under study.

She also oversees diagnostic and research activities in parasitology, focusing on Echinococcus multilocularis in wild animals, as well as the study of Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
