Professional profile
Rosaria Lucchini is a senior biologist at the SCT5 – Trento Territorial Unit of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe).
She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Padua and holds a postgraduate specialization diploma in Food Chemistry and Technology from the University of Parma. She earned a PhD from the University of Milan, a Diploma in Health Department Management from the EUPOLIS Lombardia School of Healthcare Management, and a specialization diploma in Wildlife and Public Health from the University of Milan.
She has been working at IZSVe since 1997 in the field of food safety, coordinating the activities of the Official Food Control Laboratory at SCT5 concerning microbiological and biomolecular testing used to detect foodborne pathogens (Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, and Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli [VTEC/STEC]). Her research interests focus on food safety, hygiene in the food industry, wild game meat hygiene, and the enhancement of local food production.
In October 2024, she obtained certification as an official mycologist pursuant to Ministerial Decree DM 686/1996.
