Professional profile
Riccardo Muliari is a senior veterinary officer at the SCT1 – Verona Territorial Unit of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe).
He graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Parma in 1990 and obtained a postgraduate specialization diploma in Meat Hygiene and Technology from the University of Milan in 1998.
From 1994 to 1998, he served as a veterinary assistant at the Latina and Frosinone peripheral structure of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle regioni Lazio e Toscana. In 1998, he transferred to IZSVe, initially working at the Vicenza peripheral structure before moving in 2004 to Verona, where he continues to work today. Since 2006, he has served as head of the Official Food Control Laboratory at the Verona peripheral structure.
Throughout his professional career, he has gained extensive experience in food microbiological safety, as well as in histopathological and laboratory diagnostics of animal diseases. Furthermore, since 2004 he has held the position of Quality Assurance Officer for the Verona peripheral structure, gaining in-depth expertise in quality assurance management in analytical laboratories and the effective handling of analytical data.
He has collaborated—and continues to collaborate—on several institutional research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Health covering both food safety and animal health.
