Professional profile
Giandomenico Pozza is the Director of the SCS0 – General Support Services Unit at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe).
He holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine with a specialization in Inspection of Foods of Animal Origin. Since May 2022, he has served as Director of SCS0, where his work primarily focuses on sample management (handling, labelling, traceability during transfer to target laboratories, and temperature monitoring), sample safety procedures, and data management (electronic systems for data use and archiving).
He oversees the organization and management of a BSL-3 laboratory serving the Institute’s researchers, as well as the design of a centralized cold storage facility. He is the Biosafety Officer and coordinates the activities of the Institute’s Biosafety Committee.
He has served as principal investigator for several research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Health. His main research interests include sample and related data management, laboratory organization, biosafety, and social epidemiology.
